This Privacy Notice explains how I, Sharon Mutizira, collect, use and protect personal data when you use this website or contact me about mediation services. I am committed to handling your information lawfully, fairly and transparently, in line with UK data protection law (including UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018) and, where applicable, relevant data protection requirements in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Who I am
Sharon Mutizira Mediation is the trading name of Sharon Mutizira, a Registered Civil/Commercial Mediator regulated by the Civil Mediation Council (CMC). I provide mediation services primarily in England & Wales and the UAE.
What information I collect
I may collect and process:

- Information you choose to provide about your dispute or enquiry.
- Business details (organisation name, role, and any relevant background information).

- During the course of a mediation or pre‑mediation discussions.

Why I use your information (lawful bases)

- Respond to enquiries and arrange mediation or related services (performance of a contract or steps taken at your request).
- Provide mediation services and manage my professional obligations, including record‑keeping, billing and risk management (performance of a contract; legitimate interests).
- Comply with legal, regulatory and professional requirements (legal obligations and CMC standards).
- Improve this website and understand how it is used in a general, anonymised way (legitimate interests).
I do not sell your personal data or use it for unrelated marketing. If I ever wish to send you updates or resources by email, I will ask for your consent and you can withdraw it at any time.
Sharing your information
I may share your personal data with:
- Parties involved in a mediation, and their advisers, where necessary and appropriate to the mediation process.
- Professional advisers such as legal, accounting or insurance providers, where required to manage risk and comply with my professional obligations.
- Service providers who support the operation of this website, email or video‑conferencing tools (for example, secure hosting and online mediation platforms).
I only share the minimum information necessary and require anyone who processes personal data on my behalf to keep it secure and confidential.
International transfers
Because I work across the UK and UAE, your information may be processed in, or accessed from, both jurisdictions. Where personal data is transferred from the UK to another country, I take reasonable steps to ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place, in line with UK data protection law.
How long I keep your information
I keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out above, including to meet legal, regulatory, insurance and professional obligations. Mediation‑related records are generally retained for a limited period consistent with CMC expectations, after which they are securely deleted or anonymised.
Your rights
Subject to certain conditions and exemptions, under UK data protection law you have rights which may include:

- The right to request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- The right to request deletion of your data in certain circumstances.
- The right to restrict or object to certain processing.
